President’s Message

Welcome to the Junior League of Buffalo website. We are an organization of over 500 women dedicated to impacting and improving the lives of children and families in our Western New York community. Since 1919, we have remained committed to the original mission of our founders, which is to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women and improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our mission binds us to the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) which is comprised of over 295 sister Leagues throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Please view their website www.ajli.org to find out more.

We have a long tradition of service and philanthropy in Buffalo and Western New York. The Junior League of Buffalo has a history of identifying needs in our community and putting our financial and human resources towards meeting those needs in an impactful way. We create initiatives and collaborate with community partners and programs to positively impact the community for years to come. The women of the JLB have donated their time, talent and treasure for almost 100 years and continue to serve as leaders in a variety of civic, non-profit and corporate organizations in our community.

While our work focuses on community engagement and advocacy, we also help build long-lasting friendships, professional opportunities and help women discover a passion for service. With the renaissance our city is experiencing, the need for strong female civic leaders is greater than ever. I encourage you to explore our website to learn about our work. If you’re interested in additional details that you don’t see online, we’ll be glad to help you find what you need and answer your questions. Contact us at (716) 884-8865 or e-mail us at jlb@jlbuffalo.org.

I welcome you to join us and share our vision as Women Around the World as Catalysts for Lasting Community Change.

Warmly,
Stephanie Wilkinson
President 2023-2024
