The Junior League of Buffalo and The Buffalo News are pleased to present Little Portion Friary with $250,000 in proceeds from the 23rd Decorators’ Show House, The George Urban Mansion. The Decorators’ Show House was open to the public from April 26 to May 18, 2025, and raised a total of $250,000 in grant money.

Little Portion Friary (LPF) is a 30-bed emergency shelter located at 1305 Main Street in the City of Buffalo. Established in 1982 by a dedicated group of community members, LPF has served as a vital source of safety, dignity, and support for individuals experiencing homelessness for more than four decades. At Little Portion Friary, guests receive far more than a place to stay. The organization provides a welcoming, home-like environment where individuals have access to hot meals, laundry facilities, case management services, and social-emotional and life skills programming. Little Portion Friary will use the Show House proceeds to expand and modernize its shelter. By converting underutilized third-floor space into their existing shelter, they can create four additional women’s guest rooms (6 beds) and provide the community with 2,190 nights of shelter annually, for years to come.
